The Book Fair has gone cashless this year! Scholastic have introduced an easy-to-use online payment service which you can use on the day. Alternatively, you can purchase gift vouchers prior to the event which can be exchanged for books on the day.

To build some excitement prior to the Book Fair, we are running a competition to win a £5 gift voucher to be used at the event. All your child has to do is create an idea for a brand-new story book and design a front cover. The more adventurous, the better!

Please bring any entries to Miss Critchley or Mrs Waddell by Tuesday 22^nd February to be in with a chance to win! Your child will come home with a competition entry sheet which is also attached to this email.

On Thursday  10^th March, St Sebastian's netball team took part in a tournament against 13 other teams.  There were 4 teams in their group which meant they played 3 games - won 2, lost 1 against Allington, eventual tournament 2^nd place winners. 

The team came 2^nd in the group which put them into the  4^th,5^th & 6^th place playoffs - they won all their games which meant they finished in 4^th place for the whole tournament.

A fantastic result for a small school netball team playing against much bigger schools.

The team were amazing all afternoon, showed all the school values as they played as a team: encouraged one another and built each other up,  supported each other and cheered each other on.

The team finished battered and bruised but in very good spirits.  Mrs Burton and Mr Parnham were very proud of the whole team and the 4th place achievement.

Well Done!

The School's Faith Council is running 'Name the Bunny' event to raise funds for the school's charity focus 'Mind' and the Ukraine appeal - www.dec.org.uk/Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

There are two gorgeous bunnies looking for new homes.  It is £1 a go to choose a name.  All entries will go into a hat and the two names picked out at the end of term, will get to take a bunny home in time for Easter.

There is a girl and boy bunny, don't they look gorgeous!

School Council.

The school looked fantastic with all of the Book Door Displays.  The Faith Council judged the door displays on World Book Day Thursday, 3rd March 2022 and announced the winner as.....

Tiger Class for their 'Wardrobe to Narnia' Door.

Well Done!

Our staff have been busy creating World Book day doors. Aren't they great! We are all excited to find out which door has won the competition tomorrow.

We are especially, looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up in their favourite book character.

We would like to Support Walton in their efforts of helping the people of the Ukraine and would warmly welcome any donations you can spare.

If you would like to help with this cause, please drop off any donations to the school office by 12noon on Friday 4th March. Apologies for the short notice.

Please note, stated on the leaflet  are 'clothes'. We have been asked that these are only new clothes ie underwear in packets.

St Sebastian's have their own BFG. 

Check out Mr and Mrs Parnham’s AMAZING book door for World Book Day! 

It is our EYFS open morning from 9-10am on Monday 28^th February. We are really looking forward to welcoming parents and carers back into school.

We are also holding a ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening after school on Monday 28^th February for Pandas, Polar Bears and Giraffes. Parents and carers are very welcome to visit the classes straight after school to meet the new teachers, have a look around the classroom and ask any questions you may have. If you are unable to make that date and would like to pop in at another time, please contact the school office who will be able to arrange this for you.

Our Parents Evenings for all classes are scheduled for the 29^th March and 30^th March. We will be sending out booking links soon.

Shine Assembly in Church

We are happy that we are now able to celebrate our shine assemblies with parents/carers once a month.

On the last Friday of each month we are inviting you all to join us in our celebration of the children.

These special assemblies will be held in St Sebastian’s Church with a starting time of 2.30pm and will last for approximately 40 minutes. Collection of children at the end of the school day is as usual.  

The first Shine assembly at church will take place on

Friday 25^th February 2022.

We are hoping to see many of you there.
