Music

We have been looking at samba drumming in our music lessons and have been using ‘Call and Response’ to create rhythms. The children have enjoyed playing these instruments.

Passport to the World - Brazil

We started the term with our ‘Passport to the World’ week, in which, we learned all about Brazil.

We looked at the differences between England and Brazil along with Carnival celebrations with bright colours and Samba music at the heart of the celebrations.

The Thought Fox by Ted Hughes

We had a look at some poetry as part of this term's whole class reading! “The Thought Fox” by Ted Hughes was the focus of our learning and we drew the poem to show what it meant to each of us individually.  The children had some great ideas and enjoyed reading through the poem.
