Summer Term 1 Homework and Projects Bingo Grid

Below you will find a bingo grid with homework projects related to our Summer topics plus some additional tasks. These are for the first summer term up until half term so 3 pieces would be ideal, but the children can carry out more if they wish. The children can choose to complete as many of the projects as they choose. The recommended hand in would be every 2 weeks and the tasks have been designed to complement what the children are learning in school.

 

  • You can choose to complete the tasks in any order.

  • How you present the information/finished work is up to you, but it will be suitable for keeping in your project journal (A4). Those who choose to complete projects using various digital formats will need to print out their final versions so they can be added to their journals.  Electronic copies can be emailed to dale.palmer@gvsf.school

  • The children may choose to complete their work using the various Purple Mash tools that are available through the website (Writing frames, painting, drawing etc)

  • Work needs to be well presented and of a Key Stage 2 standard.

 

Create a fact file about a rock n’ roll artist (rock n roll is our music topic!)

Create a short play scene about family/friends where something unexpected happens, set out like a playscript.

Create a construction to complement our DT project of creating structures.

Produce a poster showing what different people around the world would all be doing at the same time (Geography project relating to time zone work)

Create a instructional video explaining the difference between simple, compound and complex sentences that could be used in school.

Produce a review of your favourite book, film, or restaurant. Include lots od details and information on why others should experience it.

Spring Term 1 Homework Bingo Grid

Create an animated tale using Purple Mash ‘2Create a Story’.

Draw and label a picture based on your favourite holiday experience (real or fiction).

Take some photos that capture the theme ‘Winter’.

Write a short story based on waking one morning and all the electricity had vanished from the world!

Plan a verbal book review to present to the class about your favourite book.

 

Autumn Term 2 Homework Bingo Grid

Below you will find a bingo grid with homework projects related to our Autumn topics plus some additional tasks. These are for the second term up until Christmas so 3 pieces would be ideal, but the children can carry out more if they wish. The children can choose to complete as many of the projects as they wish to. The recommended hand in would be every 2 weeks, but feel free to complete anytime. The tasks have been designed to complement what the children are learning in school.

  • You can choose to complete the tasks in any order
  • How you present the information/finished work is up to you, but it will be suitable for keeping in your project journal (A4). Create you own musical instrument, using recycled materials and decorate it in the style of West African art! (cannot be a Maraca!)Have  a look at the different Egyptian Gods, they had gods for many things! Design your own Egyptian god and label them!As part of out 5 Ways to Wellbeing, we are learning to notice the world around us. Create a piece of art about something you see all the time but have only now started to appreciate.
Help somebody to achieve something and create a photo diary describing the events.  Perhaps you helped your Nan with her shopping?  Helped to look after a pet? Washed the car?  Think of who may need some help.

Write a short speech about your favourite hobby! It could be designed to persuade people about why it’s good or give information about it.

Present to the class!

Use ‘2 create a story’ on Purple Mash to create your own story complete with sounds and animations!

 Bonus Task - Visit a local library.

Create a pasta-based dish at home. (We are creating Bolognese sauces as part of our food/DT work)

Draw a picture of 4 different biomes and show the different flora and fauna that live there.

Research an animal and show how its teeth suit its diet.

Research some Latin words that are still used in the English language today.
 
Create a poster about internet safety.Write a short story similar to ‘Journey’, the book we are studying in English.
