Welcome to Koalas 

We have had a brilliant first week back with our new Koalas. They have settled in incredibly well to their new classroom.  It is wonderful that we can return to a less restrictive routine this year and can enjoy our collective worship time together in the hall. 

Our PE lessons are on Mondays and Wednesdays this term and the children will need to come in wearing their school PE kits on those days.  

Reading books will be changed once a week.  We will be getting new phonics reading books this year that we will also use in school in practice reading sessions from Monday to Wednesday.  Your child should be able to read these books independently so that they develop their fluency and expression whilst reading at home each night.  They will also be able to choose a library book to take home to share with you each week.  These books will not be limited to their reading ability so it is likely that you will either read these to your child or share the reading with them. The main thing is that they get to enjoy a wide variety of books of their choosing. 

Your child will be bringing home their homework grid, from which they can choose which projects they would like to do.  There are six to choose from and one will be due in every 2 weeks this term.  The homework grid will be updated at half term so only 3 projects will be expected this term. The homework grid is also on our class page on the website.
