Spring Term
Science Week - Egg Drop Investigation
Year 6 have really enjoyed Science Week. We have been learning about different Scientific jobs and also conducting an investigation about an egg. We have investigated, 'What is the best way to save an egg when dropped at a height?'
The children thoroughly enjoyed doing the investigation and learning about jobs with science. You will be pleased to know most of our eggs survived.
Orienteering
On Thursday 10th March, Giraffes really enjoyed having a taster of Orienteering. They all took on the challenge and worked together in going around the course. All of them doing us proud and showing our values of Friendship and Perseverance.
Homework Projects
We have had some great homework projects that have been done at home. I always love to see what the children have produced at home and they share with the rest of the class. Children have enjoyed making their own board games, models of volcanoes and also creating posters advertising how to keep safe online and in gaming.
Geography
In Geography, we have been learning about volcanoes and earthquakes around the world. In class, we have been using atlases to find out where in the world and which continent these eruptions and earthquakes happened.
Visit to International Bomber Command Centre
9th February 2022
We had a fantastic trip to the International Bomber Command Centre near Lincoln. We enjoyed learning about the Bomber Command team and experienced what it would be like on the Lancaster Bomber.
We especially enjoyed trying on original World War 2 uniforms.
