Structure: Playgrounds

Giraffes used tools to build their playground apparatus prototypes as part of their DT projects.

They have planned out the footprint and design of the playground in preparation of the next stage to improve and add details to their structures as well as adding necessary cladding to their apparatus for protection from the elements.

Science - Electricity

The children planned and carried out a series of electrical circuit investigations  to see if they could get the different components to function as part of a circuit.

Passport to the World - South Africa

Giraffes tasted  different South African curries that some of the children made at home to follow up our Passport to the World work on South Africa.

Science - Light

Giraffes carried out science investigations where torches were used to see if their predictions were correct about opaque, translucent and transparent materials.

Art - Photography Challenge

As part of this terms photography art project, the children have recreated classic paintings using props, outfits made from cloth and photo editing.

Conscious Alley

English

In a conscience alley, children walk between 2 lines of people giving opposing views, in this case it was a choice between staying and going as an evacuee leaving London during the World War II.

Science - Light

To prove that light travels in straight lines, the children had to design and build ‘light mazes’ where light had to be reflected around corners with mirrors to reach a certain point.
