LIVES Workshop - Monday 4th July 2022
Year 6 were involved in a LIVES workshop where they learned a new important life skill - cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Come Dine with Me
Giraffes continued their ‘Come Dine with Me’ unit and have enjoyed homemade burgers, Oreo cheesecake and chicken curry. They all have been delicious. Some budding Michelin star chefs in the making.
Bikeability
Some of our Year 6 children really enjoyed doing Bikeability and we were all so proud of their achievements. They achieved their Level 2 and are now much more confident when cycling on the road. The instructors were very impressed with their cycling and how courageous they all were cycling on the busy road near school.
Homework - Poem
Polly has written a lovely poem of her memories at school.
History
Giraffes have been learning about the changes in Britain since 1948. They have really enjoyed looking at artefacts, learning about the past. Thank you to Mrs Liversidge and Mrs Haigh for bringing artefacts in for us to all look at and have a play with.
Art
In our art lessons, Giraffes have been doing observational drawings of objects around school. They have worked on the texture and tone and used different mediums to create their still life pictures.
Science - Year 6 investigated their own questions about micro-organism. They observed the 'disgusting' mould really closely and learnt how fungi grows on bread.
Homework Projects
Cricket Engagement Day - Thursday 21st April 2022. Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the cricket experience. They all had the chance to bat and field in a '4 Bat' game.
Career and Aspiration Talk
Sam Ruddock came in to talk to our Year 5 and 6 children all about our future aspirations.
