Art: Painting

Tints and Shades

Tigers have learnt that a 'tint' is made by adding white to a colour and a 'shade' by adding black.  The children mixed colours to paint the template of an animal, working across the image from light to dark and completed a contrasting background to produce some amazing art works.

They have  developed their presentation and painting skills so much this year. Super Creativity Tigers.

Online Safety Workshop

Emma came in on Monday 19th June 2023 to deliver an online safety workshop to the children in year 2 and 3. It was great to see the children engaged, asking and answering questions  and taking part in the activities.

Mini Olympics Tuesday, 13th June 2023

We had a fantastic day at the Mini Olympics!

We were very happy to win the flag competition for our flag which represented Norway.

Thank you Inspire+!

Design and Technology

Mechanical Systems: Pneumatic Toys

Our finished toys!

Exploring pneumatics in DT has enabled us to design and make these wonderful toys using compressed air, a balloon and lots of puff!

Don’t they look fab!!! smiley

Science - Magnets

We have loved our Science topics on magnets this term.

We explored, experimented, investigated how magnets attract and repel. Our final lesson will be making a magnetic game.

Music

To start this term's Music topic, the children watched a short movie without the music (it was very strange!!!) and then composed a soundtrack for it.  –  we are looking forward to the performances.

Design and Technology

Mechanical Systems: Pneumatic Toys

Tigers this term are exploring pneumatics then applying their understanding to design and make their own pneumatic toy.

Open the Book

St Sebastian's Church Wednesday 3rd May 2023

Tigers visited St Sebastian's church for open the book. Acted out by volunteers, we enjoyed the story of the lost son. Some of the children had a small part in the story and lots were invited to play instruments as the son returned and a big party was held.

What a wonderful way to start our afternoon.
