Visit to The Hub on Tuesday 7th December 2021
Penguin class visit the Hub in Sleaford to meet and work with an artist (Michael Shaw). First, the children were shown the exhibit 'ACTIVATE/PARTICIPATE', created by Michael Shaw. The exhibit is a journey through a sculptural wonderland in which the children could affect the sculptures’ form, colour and appearance. The centrepiece U-too, a giant inflatable sculpture is made from highly reflective fabric which reflected colour and shapes on to it.
Then they took part in a paper sculpture workshop with Michael, creating sculptures using an A4 piece of white paper then added colour.
