  • Primary School Football Tournament King's School Playing Field

    Thu 31 Oct 2019 Mrs K Burton

Wow!  What a great afternoon of football. Nine children from KS2 represented St Sebastian's at a football tournament today. The team played amazingly well all afternoon,  demonstrating all our school values. There were six teams in our league. We won four of our matches and drew the last one. This meant we were level on points with another team. The team with the greater goal difference would go through to the final, for a chance to go to the County Finals. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough on this occasion despite only conceding 4 goals in our matches. So we went through to play in the final to determine 3rd position. We conceded a goal in the 1st half before drawing level in the 2nd half. Amazingly with the final kick of the game we managed to score meaning we won the match and finished in 3rd position!

Well done to the whole team, your medals were very well deserved and I was very proud of each and every one of you.

    Mrs Burton.

Eight children from Years 5 and 6 have taken part in a netball tournament over the last 2 weeks.  Although we didn’t manage to win any of our matches, the children played extremely well; never giving up and finishing each match with smiles on their  faces. They showed great sportsmanship and teamwork and were a great representation of the school.
