Maths - Fractions

Fractions made fun with cake!!!

Science

Rocks and Fossils

Tigers explored our local environment to see what kind of rock types we could find. We found lots of examples of igneous rock and a bit of metamorphic but not much igneous.

Design and Technology (DT)

Textiles: Cushions

For DT this term, Tigers will learn and apply two new sewing techniques – cross-stitch and appliqué. They will utilise these new skills to design and make a cushion.

On Thursday 25th January, the children were at the sewing stage of their cushions and it was an ideal time to invite family members and carers to come along and join in. It was a wonderful afternoon and the cushions are now well under way. Can’t wait to see the finished products.

A huge thank you to all that came along to support. laugh

Homework

Tigers continue to work hard and produce some wonderful homework projects at home from the Spring term homework grid. Well Done!

Maths

Tigers had so much fun exploring volume and capacity.

Science

Rocks and Fossils

Tigers explored the three main types of rocks: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. Using bread, they moulded it to look like the different rock types (and ate a bit) before looking at some actual rocks and sorting them into different types.

A brilliant lesson - Well Done Tigers!

Hindu Workshop

Monday 15th January 2024

Here are some fabulous pictures from our Indian experience day. Sunita came to Marston on Monday (16th Jan) and we learnt about Hinduism and Hindu Gods, enjoyed some Indian style dancing, loved creating rangoli patterns and discussed how India and England had similarities and differences.

What a super day!

Passport to the World - France

8th - 12th January 2023

Tigers found out all about France as part of the school's Passport to the World week.  They took part in various activities to find out facts about France including tasting French food!

Homework Projects coming in thick and fast now!
