School Council

Our School Council plays an important role within our church school and represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

2023-2024

School Council Representatives

Year 1 to Year 6

The School Council are full of amazing ideas and are planning a special Easter competition and sponsored event ... more information to come in Spring Term 2.

They are pictured above standing around the Toilet as they are collecting money to twin a toilet for a community that doesn't have one!

Any spare change is greatly appreciated - Thank-you.

Easter 2024

The Easter Egg competition that the school council led has been a huge success! Thank-you to all of the children who entered you are all egg-cellent!

What a cracking bunch you are!

The School Council have set their aspirations very high for the year. Their two aspirations are to raise money for:

  1. resurfacing a part of the playground that currently gets wet and muddy. They have met with a School Ground contractor to set out their requirements and negotiate a suitable surface for this.
  2. the Toilet Twinning Charity. They have a (new) toilet set up to collect spare change in to raise £60 to build a toilet in remote community where they do not have their own. The School Council have shared their learning about this amazing charity with the school and are thrilled to have this opportunity.

The whole school is keen to collect spare change in school to share between their two aspirations.

2022-2023

School Council Representatives

Year 1 to Year 6

Each class nominated two pupils to represent them for our newly formed School Council. They have lots of fantastic ideas between them.

Summer Term Theme Kindness

For the Summer term, the School Council are beginning to think about the theme of kindness in our school. They will be encouraging their classmates to complete ‘kindness slips’ and put these in a folder on the School Council board. Each week they will be choosing a good example of one of these to award a certificate to.

Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal

Class Loose Change Challenge

The School Council counted up the loose coins collected by each class to contribute to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The winning class with the highest total was Year 4 - Penguin class with Year 6 -  Giraffes a close second. Penguin class won an extra playtime reward!

In total, the school council collected £100.55 which is fantastic in just over a week! This can be added to the total of £125 that they raised from the Cake Sale. It just shows what a kind and thoughtful school community we have who think so deeply about others in the world.

 Thank you for your contributions!

 School Council Bake Sale

Friday 10th March 2023

Thank you to everyone who supported the School Council with their bake sale.

We managed to raise £125

We continue to fundraise by collecting loose change. Each class has their own jar to collect the coins. The class who raises the most money by the end of term will earn a  reward.
