Homework and Projects for Spring 2020

This term our topic will be ‘Wild Water’, we will be learning about the rivers of the world, topical water issues and the stages of the Water Cycle. In Literacy, we will be basing our writing on the books Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson and A Boy and Bear in a Boat by David Shelton.

You can complete the tasks in any order, but they need to be handed in fortnightly across the Spring term. The first piece of homework should be brought in by Friday 24th January.

How you present the work is up to you, but it needs to be suitable for keeping in your A4 sized Project Journal (photographs or print outs can be made). There will also be regular tasks set on Purple Mash during the coming months linked to our learning.

Please remember you should be reading daily and using Times Table Rockstars to help with your Maths fluency.

Create a model or draw a diagram of the Water Cycle.

Design a poster describing how you can help improve water pollution.

Create a leaflet or fact file on a world river of your choice.

Write a shape poem about a river.

Create a set of Top Trump cards based on the world’s largest rivers.

Write a persuasive letter to the Prime Minister asking for a ban on plastics to help save our seas.

Design a boat that will float in water.

Write a story about a character going on a journey on a boat.

Create a 3D model of a river.
