Summer 2 (Term 6)

Good morning Giraffes, welcome to Term 6.

Every Monday I will upload the week's English and Maths lessons for the week for Miss Critchley. Within this, there will be a daily Maths and English lesson for you to complete. I will also add a weekly science activity for you.

Read through the PDF carefully for each day and follow the web links if there are any. If there is a Power Point for the day, read through it for more information to help you.

All these pieces of work will also be uploaded to Google Classroom where you can submit your work for Miss Critchley too. She will be marking all your submitted work on Friday or over the weekend.

Read the text that I have uploaded below. It is a great short story and I love it!

Your task is to write your own chapter for our own class book called 'How to NOT go to school'. You should base it on the style of the original story and it can be any length you like, but I would recommend at least one side of A4.
The plan is to put all of the chapters together to create a class book that we can share with the other classes in school.
You will need to create a chapter title which tells the reader what your chapter will be about. Your chapter can be quite broad and talk about surviving being off school in general or focus in on something specific. Think of it as a survival guide to being off school or a top tip to keep busy! Be as creative as you like!

Here are some ideas:
How to keep yourself busy at home
How to take care of your grown ups
How to grow your own vegetables
How to bake chocolate chip cookies
How to have fun in the garden
How to spend your daily exercise

For an extra challenge, see if you can include the subjunctive form once in your chapter.
For example:
I suggest that you spend one hour each day outside of the house to make sure you are getting lots of lovely, fresh air.
I recommend that you check the cookies are soft and squidy before serving them to your family.
If I were you, I would keep the best cakes hidden from your greedy brothers and sisters!

If possible, please type your story so it is easier to create the class book.

Week Beginning 27/4/20

Collective Worship - Pentecost

A couple of weeks early but let's look at the events of Pentecost and see what they can teach us.

Collective Worship - Compassion for All

This week, we briefly revisit the Good Samaritan among other things as we try to understand what our attitude should be towards those from other places.

Collective Worship - Equal? Galatians 3 v 28

Do we treat different people of having different worth? This week's CW explores the value God places on us all, no matter who we are, and how this should affect us in our own relationships.

Collective Worship - The Prodigal Son

Relationships are so important so how are things going in your house during lockdown? Jesus' parable about the prodigal son teaches us an important lesson.

Collective Worship - Good Samaritan
