Aims and Ethos

Our aims and ethos are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our Christian ethos

Recognising its historic foundation, our school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan levels.

Our school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all our pupils.

 

Our educational and pastoral aims

To provide high quality education and full opportunities to all

To help every child identify and develop their talents and abilities

To teach a broad and balanced curriculum (in accordance with National requirements) meeting the academic, moral, physical, spiritual, social and cultural needs of all children

To provide opportunities for pupils to apply their learning in practical situations

To foster a culture of hard work and independent learning through enjoyable activities

To nurture enquiring, imaginative and creative minds

To develop an appreciation and respect for their own world, the people and cultures, both past and present
